About The Artist

Hello and welcome to The Lopers Sketches Website! 

My name is Anna and I have been sketching for as long as I can remember! I was raised in the New England area in NSW and now reside in Central Queensland. I have always been a passionate horse person. I love the outdoors and the Agriculture Industry. 

A lot of my art is inspired by the Australian Performance Horse Industry. There is something fascinating about watching a horse and rider as one, completing a pattern or working a cow. 

I have worked in feedlots, meat works and sale yards. I also did a stint of contract mustering, I have always enjoyed working outdoors and with horses and cattle. I also did 6 months work for a well known cutting trainer. A strapper or a groom is referred to as the 'Loper' in the cutting world, hence The Lopers Sketches 

In recent years my art has progressed to somewhere I would have only dreamed of a few years ago. I began with constant scribbling in books and 'doodling'. I do not have any formal Art training, I have taught myself most of what I know. 

I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and skill set! I hope to create a portfolio of works that complement all things Bovine and Equine. 

In 2023 I began entering some art competitions. I was very humbled to win some drawing classes and a Peoples Choice Award. To win a Peoples Choice Award is something special. To be voted by the public against different categories is very rewarding feeling to know that they do enjoy my work.
